Score on King has recently opened, taking over the space that what was previously Origin restaurant. It is now the scene of a slick, modern sports bar with a fun casual vibe. Sitting right on the corner at King and Church, the accessible King streetcar will be able to bring you basically to the front door if you are planning on using transit. There is also an underground parking garage with the accessible spots conveniently located right beside the restaurant on Church Street.
The accessible entrance is on Church street and you will pass through the patio area as you approach the doors. There are some sections of the patio that are not fully accessible because of steps, but the level area has a few bar-height tables with stool seating. There is one table that has height-adjustable legs and can be brought down to 29” standard table height upon request. We’d recommend calling in advance to request this spot if required.
The main entrance into the bar/restaurant has two doors that can open, each 31.5” wide with no threshold across the entry; however there is not an accessible button. Given the bar-vibe of the restaurant, most of the seating is bar-height tables with stools. However, like the patio, there is a table with height-adjustable legs. The staff were more than happy to offer this option while we visited for lunch.
The accessible washroom is down a dimly lit hallway. There is an accessible button to open the washroom door but is a bit tucked away. Don’t be afraid to ask a staff member for assistance if needed. Door is 38” wide with a lever handle and inside there is also a button to lock the washroom door. There is clear open space both in front and underneath the sink, that measures 32” high and 19” wide. The washroom has a manual flush toilet, with grab bars surrounding for support if needed. The faucet and paper towel dispenser are manual, while the soap is automatic.
There seems to be a bit of a reputation for epic Caesar concoctions at Score, however during our drop in over lunch we were surprised and delighted by the super tasty food options as well! Let us know what you think about Score on King!
