Hot Docs Festival 2024 Partnership

Hot Docs was founded in 1993 and is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing and celebrating the art of documentary and creating production opportunities for documentary filmmakers.

Hot Docs also prioritizes making their screenings as accessible as possible to members of the deaf community as part of their current mandate and multi year accessibility plan.

You can read about all the accessible features avaliable on the below link but they included screenings with Closed Captions, Option Captions and Audio Descriptions as well as wheelchair accessible venues.

The list of physical venues and each of their accessible features can be found here has well.

Venues | Hot Docs

I am also here to announce that Hot Docs and AccessTO are partnering again this year to provide tickets to the AccessTO community. The festival runs April 25th to May 5th 2023 and you can use the code ACSGPHDF24 to redeem up to two free tickets per transaction. You can view a listing of films for this years festival on the Hot Docs website and filter depending on what captioning option you require.

As far as wheelchair seating goes I’d personally prefer any screening at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
