The CONTACT Photography Festival is an annual city-wide festival that began in 1997. It encompasses exhibitions, public art installations, and programs that feature the work of local and international lens-based artists every May.

Given that I’ve been a photography enthusiast for a long time this festival is another favourite of mine. The festival is spread out across the city and not even venue or galley will be accessible. There is a map on the Contact website that will list accessible venues there is no definition of what this means and I suspect that it is self identified by the venue themselves. I would suggest calling or e-mail ahead if you have more specific needs other than basic wheelchair accessibility.

Here are a few shows that I’m personally hoping to attend this year.
