Bymark is the creation of Toronto-based celebrity restauranteur Mark McEwan, host of Top Chef Canada and author of Great Food At Home.

All of Mark McEwan's restaurants are accessible (including already reviewed Fabbrica!) so don’t let the two-step outdoor entrance to Bymark trick you. There is an alternate entrance in the PATH, so there are several ways to get to this fine dining establishment.

If you drive, it is simple to get to Bymark via the Toronto Dominion Centre parking garage on the north side of Wellington, directly between Bay and York. This parking garage has wide double doors with automatic door openers. Take one of the spacious elevators to the concourse level and you will find yourself in the PATH.

You can also get to the PATH via the Toronto Dominion Centre building, which is open 24 hours a day. To get to Bymark, I entered the TD building via a ramp located just west of the SBI Canada building at the northwest corner of Bay and Wellington – no automatic door opener at this particular entrance. A kind security guard showed me how to get to Bymark through the nearby elevators, which were specious, with wide entrances and accessible buttons. Bymark has ample signage in the PATH.

You enter Bymark through glass double doors (no automatic opener) and are greeted by a host. The tile floor is free of obstructions, and all tables in the beautiful dining room are standard height with plenty of room underneath. There is seating for any number of groups – twos, fours, and up.

There is also a private party room that seats eighteen. The large accessible washroom has the following highlights – door width of 35 inches, two grab bars, 33 inches of clearance under the sink, and an automatic flusher. The toilet height is 17 inches.

Bymark has a lounge on the second floor that one could theoretically enter by going back up out the elevators and then going outside, but the tables are all very low and tightly packed together. I was told there is a patio on this level in the spring.

As stated above, Parking is available on Wellington between Bay and York ($10 evening/weekend flat rate). St. Andrew and Union are the closest subway stations, and both have elevators.
