Vegan food lovers looking for a Mexican-twist need not look further. Rosalinda, a vegan Mexican restaurant, opened this past spring in an easily-accessible downtown venue. Located on the ground floor at Richmond and York St, the restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options that will cater to just about anyone. With an indulging selection of Mexican-inspired dishes and flavours, including Tijuana-style broccolini or chorizo verde tacos, Rosalinda comes highly recommended for a quick bite or a sit-down meal with friends.
At the entrance of Rosalinda, you will find a very small lip as you open the door. The door width is 32 inches wide and there is no automatic door button.
Inside Rosalinda, you will find it to be a very open-concept space with enough room to navigate any type of mobility devices. The floors are mostly tiled except for one dining section which has a flat rug underneath the table.
There are multiple accessible seating and table arrangements throughout the venue. Most tables have a clearance of 28.5 inches. For those that might want to dine alone at the bar, the height might prove to be a bit difficult. Due to its popularity, the restaurant can get busy and noisy at dinner time so it is recommended that you book ahead in order to select a table preference.
Rosalinda has an accessible bathroom and for the most part, it is accessible. There is an automatic door button, however the hallway becomes obstructed once fully open so Individuals with larger wheelchairs or scooters may need some assistance. Inside the bathroom, the sink has a clearance of 29 inches and there are 2 grab bars around the toilet.
Unfortunately there isn’t street parking nearby, but there is plenty of parking garages to choose from. A Green P is located just a few blocks west at Simcoe Street and Richmond St. West. If you are traveling by subway, Rosalinda is located equally between the accessible Osgoode and St. Andrew stations.
Overall, Rosalinda is a terrific accessible option for those seeking a healthy alternative downtown! Let us know what you think!
