In a neighbourhood lined with inaccessible restaurants and clothing stores, there is the impressive Mideastro Yorkville. Hidden at the end of Yorkville Ave. closer to Yonge St, this Middle Eastern restaurant offers exquisite flavours in a barrier-free space.
The entrance to Mideastro Yorkville is slightly elevated from the sidewalk with a slight incline to the front door. The outdoor patio is small, offering 8 seats, but the tables are easily accessed. You are welcomed into the restaurant by friendly staff via a set of double doors that measure 34 inches each and another 34 inch glass door. There are no automatic door openers. Once indoors, you quickly recognize that space is not an issue! Sleek booth seating line the walls while standard table seating is available in the center and back of the restaurant. There is a private glass room in front of the washrooms that provide the option for a more quieter dining experience.
The restroom facilities are as clean and spacious as the rest of the restaurant: 36 inch wide swinging door leads you into a 2 stall room. One stall in each of the men's and women's washroom is wheelchair accessible. Features include 2 grab bars, 36 inch door, 31 inch floating sink, automatic dryers.
Other details to note is that this restaurant is open for Sunday dinner and offers a corkage fee if you would like to bring your own wine. If taking public transit, Mideastro Yorkville can be accessed by the Yonge & Bloor subway station. Several underground parking lots with wheelchair accessible spots are also available throughout the Yorkville neighbourhood (either on Yorkville Ave. or Cumberland St.)
