Alma is a new restaurant in Toronto’s Bloordale neighbourhood that serves inventive, delicious food in a welcoming accessible space.

The restaurant is located a few blocks west of the accessible Dufferin Station and a Green P parking lot is conveniently located just 2 blocks west. The entrance to Alma is unobstructed and there are no steps leading to the 34 inch wide front door. There is no automatic door opener.

Inside the space includes 11 standard height tables with a few bar height seating options for the overflow. There is a clear pathway to the accessible washroom at the back of the restaurant, however at one point the path narrows to 26 inches in between tables. I have visited Alma twice and have found both times that the staff were friendly and accommodating so please ask for assistance if needed!

The washroom is entered though a 34 inch doorway. There is 2 grab bars located around the toilet. The sink contains cabinets below so would not allow easy access forward to the sink or soap. There are no automatic features.

For anyone living in the neighbourhood or visiting, Alma is sure to impress! Check it out and let us know what you think of chef Anna Chen’s parisienne gnocchi!
